You don’t need an hour of silence on a mountain to benefit from mindfulness. At C.A.R.E. Dehradun, our psychologists teach busy patients — students, working parents, seniors — simple 5-minute practices that calm the nervous system and rebuild focus.
3 practices we teach every beginner
- Box breathing: inhale 4 counts, hold 4, exhale 4, hold 4 — two minutes before meetings or exams.
- Body scan: slowly notice each muscle group from feet to forehead, releasing tension as you go.
- Thought labelling: name the worry (“planning”, “remembering”) and return to the breath — it stops rumination spirals.
Mindfulness plus therapy works faster
Research shows mindfulness combined with counselling reduces relapse in anxiety and depression. That’s why our psychology programs pair guided meditation and yoga with one-to-one psychotherapy — mind and body recovering together, with measurable progress reviews for every patient.
